I'd rather be wanted than needed... when you're needed, you never know if they need you or just what you provide. When you're wanted, it's reasonably likely that they want you for who you are.

I think our society has done a number on both men and women: Men tend feel valued for what they provide (and not just on who they are). But Toby? I'll tell you what I tell my partner: Who you ARE is enough. You don't have to DO anything other than BE.

And it makes sense to focus on the little bit of prepping that is under your control as so much of life (especially now) is not.
