Yes... I hear you completely.

I have waffled about re-marriage for myself. I'm scared. But I also want to be full of hope.

I also realize that one person being in love is not enough, and that any good partnership takes reciprocal, consistent effort.

For awhile, I thought just being in a domestic partnership was enough...

But recently my partner got a pretty severe concussion and I called the dr on his behalf, and since we weren't married (though we are domestic partners)...they wouldn't let me talk on his behalf. So even though he'd regained consciousness and wasn't thinking clearly, they only spoke to him.

Spouses get recognition in many ways that domestic partners do not.
